Nestled in a scenario in which the Julian Alps are the setting, lies the Sport Hotel Forte. The hotel (reopened in 2011) welcomes you to a typically mountainous atmosphere, offering you a stay rich in comfort and fun.
Located in the ski resort of Sella Nevea – Chiusaforte, this is the right destination for all those who would willingly give up long queues at the ski lifts and crowded ski slopes.
At 2,067 meters above sea level, the Sella Prevala, is the only mountain pass in Italy to be covered with snow 8 months a year.
The soft snow in this skiing area is adapted for all levels of preparation, both for beginners and expert skiers who can enjoy the real feel of snow by taking advantage of the FISI Ski Training Centre. There are also additional activities for non skiers, such as: snowshoe walking and dog sledding. As for children, all is in easy reach: snow park, baby carers, snow tubing, tape-lifts, all just 50 meters from the hotel.
The Hotel also provides equipment for hiking and snowshoe walking, while experienced skiers can try the 50 km of ski slopes between Sella Nevea and Bovec: the ski lifts being only 50 meters from the hotel!
To round off a day of skiing, there is nothing better than a relaxing sauna in the sports centre in your - Sport Hotel Forte ***.
Upon your arrival, you are invited to a welcoming party during which our entertainment team and an instructor from the ski school will present their weekly programme and a variety of other suggestions. Ski passes, skiing lessons and excursions can be booked directly at the hotel.

Like a balcony on the Julian Alps, the sober-essential and youthful Sport Hotel Forte enjoys a scenic location in a quiet and sunny position. There are numerous opportunities for walking and guided hiking tours to experience and discover the typical beauty of the Alps where nature reigns supreme.
Our customers can enjoy the many facilities available on the plateau of Montasio, a place frozen in time and wrapped in green, known for its world-famous ‘MALGHE’ (alpine summer pastures) where you can breathe in the purity of the alpine environment.
DESIRE FOR HISTORY AND GEOTOPOGRAPHY? Visit the Raibl International geo-mining park in CAVE DEL PREDIL, a mining village dedicated to the extraction of lead and zinc from the surrounding Alps. At the end of the visit it is only natural to spend some time at the Historical Museum.
WANT TO WALK? Boots firmly tied and walking, hiking or trekking sticks at hand, you can do a variety of activities, including: excursions and trips, hiking along the trails marked by CAI (Italian Alpine Club), walks in untouched nature, cultural and gastronomic walk-a-bouts, and excursions in naturalistic, geological, botanical and speleological paths of global interest, along the most beautiful routes in the area. There is also a Nordic Walking school.
WANT TO BIKE? Mountain-biking is one way to discover, otherwise hidden, places far away from traffic, and to combine the love for nature with the pleasure of sport. Thanks to the many routes, you can whizz along paths that lead into a beautiful natural, rich and varied landscape, including enchanting mountains, rolling hills, forests, lakes, rivers and rich historical centres of art. Lovers of cycling can enjoy a bike path which occupies the old railway line and runs between the villages of the valley immersed in nature reaching the neighbouring Carinthia and Slovenia for a ride without boundaries.
Every route we suggest is linked and each offers two levels of difficulty. Each route is accompanied with information on distance in kms and travel time, data on road surface (dirt and paved roads), tips on the degree of experience required and suggested stopping points. Bicycles for children, helmets and child seats suitable for transportation are available at the hotel. Lessons at the mountain bike school for children are also available by booking.
And in the summer the chair lift offers the opportunity to transport the bicycles up the slopes enabling you to make beautiful breathtaking descents!.
LOOKING FOR ADVENTURE? The Adventure Park, will test even the most daring tightrope walkers with paths suspended between trees, wooden platforms , steel cables, rope bridges, pulleys, ropes and ladders, where they can experience the thrilling sensations of tarzaning.

Enthusiasts and experts can descend into the abyss Boican , caves in Mount Canin amongst the deepest, important and challenging in the world, while in the cave of the Fontanone di Gouriuda, even children, accompanied by expert Alpine cave guides aboard a boat, can appreciate and admire what water and nature has generated over time.
